Week 37

This has been another uncomfortable week, but you will be here before we know it! I had a Doctor's appointment this week and you were perfect with your heart rate in the 140's. I've been trying to put the finishing touches on your room and been hanging more clothes and preparing for you. I can't wait for you to get here!
Stats for the Week:
Mood: Miserable!!!!!!
Energy: None
Cravings: Tiger's Blood Snowcones

Week 36

I love you and am so glad to be pregnant with you, but I am MISERABLE!!! I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to August 10th. I've been having what I think are Braxton Hicks contractions whenever I walk too much or do too much, so I'm trying to take it easy. Your Dad has been so helpful lately! I'm so lucky to have him to help and be such good support.

I've been working on hanging your clothes and packing our bags for the hospital. I just want everything to be perfect, right down to your outfits. I'm really looking forward to your arrival!

We got you a gift to give Audrey. We are planning for Audrey to be the first one to meet you and you are going to give her this reading system called "Tag Junior" with a dog thing that's apart of it. I know she'll love it because she's already seen the box and been "woof woof"ing and wanting me to give it to her.

Well, here's big ole us!

Stats for the Week:
Mood: Miserable!!!!!!
Energy: None
Cravings: Coconut Creme Pie. Yum!

Week 35

You are the size of a honeydew melon, and you're now able to suck a nipple.

Okay. I'm just MISERABLE now! I am counting the days now until you arrive. Totally feeling the "honeydew melon" thing!  LOL!  You are on my gall bladder - which feels like a knife stabbing me, my belling is super tight and painful and my lower back hurts like crazy! And, I'm super tired to boot! You are MORE than worth it, though!! And, there are good things this time around like NO SWELLING! Woo!!

Had our doctor's appointment this week and you were perfect! Momma spilled a tiny amount of protein, which could mean several different things, but Momma is going to take it easy and minimize stress the next month jus incase! Blood pressure was a little higher than normal, but still below "normal". Go back to the doctor in 2 weeks for what I think is our last appointment before you arrive!

Stats for the Week:
Mood: Miserable
Energy: None
Cravings: Snow cones

Thursday, July 5, 2012

Week 34

You are the size of a cantaloupe, and your main job now is simply to continue plumping up.

I've been knocking out your sister's 2nd birthday party this week! It's my last big thing to do and the next month, I can focus on YOU and getting your clothes hung and room finished. I've got a couple of more pictures to add and a fitted sheet that looks like it will arrive after you do, but it's very close! Here I am this week - even bigger lol:

You've (we've) grown a LOT in a month:

Stats for the Week:
Mood: Happy
Energy: None
Cravings: Back to the jelly doughnut thing again. Not good

Thursday, June 28, 2012

Week 33

You are as big as a pineapple, and you're starting to shed your downy hair, called lanugo.

It's SO hot outside! This is one of the hottest summers I can remember. We haven't had but one good rain in 2 months. We've gone a few weeks now with +100 degree temperatures. It's making it very uncomfortable right now for sure. I'm trying to do as much with Audrey as possible before you arrive, but this heat is making it difficult!

We finally got your room mostly finished this week!! Woo hoo! I love it! It's just like I imagined and I hope you love it too! I've got to do a few more things and then I'll take pictures. Still need to wash and hang your clothes, but will focus on that after Audrey's birthday party.

I've also frozen a couple of casseroles this week. I WILL be better prepared this time lol!

Stats for the Week:
Mood: Happy
Energy: None
Cravings: Honeydew melon and lime sherbet smoothies. Yum!

Thursday, June 21, 2012

Week 32

You are the size of a jicama, and by now all of your major organs, except for your lungs, are fully functioning.

This was a great week, but I'm still oh so tired. Had an OB appointment on Wednesday and it was great. Your heartbeat was perfect. You GREW so much in the past 3 weeks. Your fundal measurement has been 1 centimeter (1 week) under average. However, this time it was 1 over! And, I have really been feeling it. I've been having a lot of round ligament pain lately and feeling the stretch. Other than that, feeling good just tired and getting slower. My legs feel pretty tight lately too. But very grateful and still walking and exercising!

Stats for the Week:
Mood: Happy
Energy: None
Cravings: BLT's. Followed by a Sonic slush. Yum!

Thursday, June 14, 2012

Week 31

You are as long as a bunch of bok choy, and you now turn your head from side to side.

Okay, I'm now about as tired as it gets.  I just don't have the energy or motivation to do much of anything and I'm having to really MAKE myself.  I'm trying to continue walking and taking your sister to the pool, but it does make me really tired.  And, July is looking like it's going to be THE BUSIEST month ever.  We (meaning your Dad) is finishing up painting your room and Momma is finishing up the decoration.  We've also got your sister's birthday party to plan for this month and dance lessons for her twice a week all through July.  However, the nice part is that time will FLY and it won't be very long until I can hold you in my arms and kiss your sweet face!

Stats for the Week:
Mood: Happy!
Energy: Totally GONE.  I can't remember ever being so tired.
Cravings: Anything sweet

Thursday, June 7, 2012

Week 30

You are the size of a large cabbage, and by now you has developed all five senses.

You have been moving like crazy this week and really responding to our voices. You should DEFINITELY know Audrey's when you arrive lol! I haven't been walking as much - I've been so tired, but the pounds are packing on, so I'm trying to get my walks in again. Here's a collage I made to show you how much I've (we've) grown:

And, here's a new picture for week 30:

I love you so much and can't wait until I can tell you that in person and kiss your little face!

Stats for the Week:
Mood: Happy!
Energy: Totally EXHAUSTED
Cravings: Anything sweet

Thursday, May 31, 2012

Week 29

You are the size of a butternut squash, and this week your head is growing to make room for his developing brain.

Yes, I'm SUPER exhausted now.  I'm having to take naps again when your sister takes them - almost daily.  Walking and doing chores are really difficult with the lack of energy, but I'm still going!

Had our 28 week doctor appointment this week and everything was PERFECT!  Had the Rhogam shot (Momma is RH-) and also the gestational diabetes test, which was fine as well.  Very grateful because I'm NOT in the mood to give up cookies!!

Stats for the Week:
Mood: more emotional train wreck.  :)
Cravings: Chocolate chip cookies...AUGH!  Why can't it be apples?!

Thursday, May 24, 2012

Week 28

You are the size of a head of iceberg lettuce, and you take 20 to 30 minute naps regularly these days.

Well, I hit the third trimester mark, and already starting to get tired again.  I thought it was from moving, but it's definitely just me slowing down a little bit.  I've still been putting on more weight than I like, so your sister and I started walking almost daily.  I'm hoping that it will at least remove the extra cookie calories.  :)

Stats for the Week:
Mood: Happy again!
Energy: Tired, but enjoying lots of 30 minute walks.
Cravings: Jelly...don't ask me why.

Thursday, May 17, 2012

Week 27

You are the size of a head of cauliflower, and you're growing fast! Since the 12-week mark, your crown-to-rump length has probably tripled.

Another week of unpacking and getting ready for your arrival! I've ordered a few things for you that have come in such as a pillow and cushion for your rocker. The changing pad cover came in as well. I'm loving the yellow and gray and can't wait to paint your room! Dad just painted sister's room and it looks amazing and I know yours will as well. You've been doing great, just kicking and moving like crazy. I love you!!!

Stats for the Week:
Mood: Emotional, very. Just ask your Dad. :)
Energy: Tired, but enjoying lots of 30 minute walks.
Cravings: Sweet things. Augh!

Thursday, May 10, 2012

Week 26

You are nearly as long as a zucchini, and your eyebrows and eyelashes are thick and lush.

This has been kind of a crazy week. We got moved into our new house and then took a few days off because we were exhausted. I couldn't do a whole lot being pregnant. It's been a little frustrating, but I'll do anything to protect you and keep you safe. We have your stuff in your room and got in your furniture, but we need to paint first before we arrange and assemble everything. It's going to be so cute!

Stats for the Week:
Mood: Emotional
Energy: Tired from moving.
Cravings: Sweet things.

Thursday, May 3, 2012

Week 25

You are the size of a rutabaga, and your fingerprints have now formed.

Okay, a little late on this picture (sorry!).

Had another Doctor's appointment this week. You were great - heart rate in the 140's. Unfortunately, I gained 11 pounds. :(. I'm not sure, but I think the raspberry doughnuts are to blame. ;). I've gained about 35 pounds so far. That's about as much as I wanted to gain the entire pregnancy, so I'm a little disappointed, but very pleased and grateful that you are healthy and that everything is going well otherwise. In my defense, we've been eating out a lot while we've been finishing packing and I think that I've retained a lot of fluid from the salt. That's my story anyway and I'm sticking to it! ;)

Stats for the Week:
Mood: Happy.
Energy: Tired from moving.
Cravings: I still can't get those dang doughnuts off my mind...

Thursday, April 26, 2012

Week 24

You are as long as an ear of corn, and you now notice bright lights and may move in response.

We are getting everything boxes up to move soon. You are wiggling around like crazy - which makes me happy and eases my mind. Your Daddy FINALLY felt you kick for the first time this week - which was awesome! So many times, my belly shakes like crazy, but he misses it. He was glad to finally feel you! You are also really responding to our voices - it's adorable.

Stats for the Week:
Mood: Happy, but still a little overwhelmed and emotional at times.
Energy: Some.
Cravings: Anything sweet

Thursday, April 19, 2012

Week 23

You are as big as an eggplant, and your pancreas are developing now.

This was a pretty good week - a little bit more energy.  I did get tendonitis in my right hand, which has been miserable because I can't take anything but Tylenol and that doesn't help.  However, it's starting to feel better and I'm trying not to overdo things.  I'm really distracted this week with moving and thoughts of what I need to do to prepare for you and what I need to buy.  I need to get organized.  I think that after we get moved and settled, I'll have more time to do the custom things I want to do for you.  However, right now, I'm pretty overwhelmed.  There is so much to do in 4 short months.  However, the good news is that you will actually need very little as a newborn, so if I don't get it everything completely finished, I know it will be okay as long as you have diapers, wipes, milk and a lot of love.  :)  However, I do want your room to be beautiful and perfect and I'm excited about all of my ideas!  I just can't wait to see them completed and everything finished!

Stats for the Week:
Mood: Happy, but a little overwhelmed and emotional at times.
Energy:  A little more energy than last week.
Cravings:  Raspberry jelly donuts from Krispy Kreme.  Yeah, I know.  Don't even start.  :)

Thursday, April 12, 2012

Week 22

You are the size of a papaya, and your taste buds are becoming sensitive enough to react to what you eat this week.

Not a lot happened this week pregnancy-wise, but we sold our home! Praise God! It only took 8 days with a sign in our yard and a prayer. No Internet listing or even flyers. Woo! We are going to be so busy over the next couple of weeks packing and moving...I'm a little nervous. However, I know it will happen before we know it and we will be so happy in our new home! I can't wait to get started on your yellow/grey room! It's going to be so pretty!!

Stats for the Week:
Mood: Happy (and overwhelmed with all of the house stuff, but grateful!)
Energy:  A little more energy than last week.
Cravings: Sweet things..sigh!  I don't think this is gonna be a good weight month unless I put the brakes on the sweet cravings!

Thursday, April 5, 2012

Week 21

You are as long as a carrot, and your bone marrow is beginning to produce blood cells.

Another doctor's appointment this week and you are perfect! Momma, on the other hand, gained 8 whole pounds! In my defense, I think a couple of pounds were fluid. I had to take off my prized wedding rings in Tuesday. My hands swelled so fast in one day that I didn't know if I'd ever get them off. I did find a lovely pair of fake rings at Kohl's that will work until I can squeeze into them again! Here's hoping for Christmas! ;). We put a "for sale by owner" sign in our yard yesterday, so we are hoping that our home sells quickly before we move into our bigger home!

Stats for the Week:
Mood:  Happy!
Energy: Still pretty tired.
Cravings:  Anything bite-sized and chocolate.  I'm sure that has nothing to do with the 8 pound gain lol!

Thursday, March 29, 2012

Week 20

You are the size of a coconut, and your head is now more proportionate to the rest of your body.

What energy I was getting back is now completely wiped out again. And, not a good time for it to happen with packing and moving! Fortunately, your Daddy is more than a big help and I'm hoping to knock some things out this upcoming weekend.

You are still doing great and kicking! You are still breech, so I can't feel your every movement like I could, but can still feel you at least a few times an hour.

Stats for the Week:
Mood: Much happier
Energy: Completely gone again.
Cravings: Cheese Sticks and weird craving for a Twix pie.  Never had one, but it sounds oh so yummy!

Thursday, March 22, 2012

Week 19

You are the size of a mango, and you are developing motor skills that allow you to make conscious movements.

Big news for the week, but the biggest, by far, is that YOU'RE A...

GIRL! I couldn't be more thrilled, although I would have been happy either way. I always knew you were my "Ava" and now I can officially call you Ava! The ultrasound was at 18 weeks 5 days and good news all around. Everything looked great - heart rate in the 150's and we got to hear it and count all of your fingers and toes. Momma is already so in love with you an cant wait to kiss your precious little face!

Other big news for the week is that we bought a new home! This will give us more bedrooms and space for our growing family. It's perfect for us and Momma and Daddy are very pleased.

The only bad, big news for the week was that I had food poisoning Saturday night (on my birthday). We called the nurse and she said you would be fine, but you did move into the breech position that night. Momma was very very sick - far more sick than she every was with early pregnancy. Just glad it only lasted for a night!

Anyway, here's more pictures from the ultrasound. We are so excited about our Ava Rowan and can't wait to meet you!

Stats for the Week:
Mood: Much happier
Energy: More!
Cravings: Anything BBQ/Cheddar...sigh!  This is nothing that I would even consider eating in "real life" LOL!

Thursday, March 15, 2012

Week 18

You are about the size of a sweet potato, and you have just learned to yawn.
You are so active! WAY more active than Audrey ever was! It feels like you must be doing somersaults in my tummy! It an amazing feeling and I'm so glad that you are making your presence known - it's comforting. You were especially active when I was playing handbells recently. I don't know whether you enjoyed the noise or whether it startled you, but you were jumping all around.

Our quad test results came back this week perfect, so that was a huge relief! I love you no matter what, but it's really a relief to know that you are healthy. Huge answered prayer! We have our ultrasound next Wednesday. I'm so anxious to know whether you are a boy or a girl!

Stats for the Week:
Mood: Much happier
Energy: More!
Cravings: Cajun food and anything hot or spicy

Thursday, March 8, 2012

Week 17

You are the size of a large pear, and you may be sucking your thumb, a habit that you'll likely continue outside of the womb.

Momma had a doctor's appointment this week and it went well. I heard your heartbeat again and it was in the 144-152 range. I've been a little breathless/out-of-breath lately, so they are going to check my blood to see if I'm anemic again like I was when I was pregnant with your sister. They also did the quad blood test. It is so scary to me...I'm just looking forward to receiving good results next week! We scheduled an ultrasound in 2 weeks so we can see you again and know your gender. I just KNOW you are a girl, but I will be completely thrilled either way as long as you are healthy. Heres the names we have picked out:

Girl: Ava Rowan
Boy: Cade Alan

However, I've been liking Gavin a lot for a boy lately, so we may have to talk about it again if you are a boy!

Stats for the Week:
Mood:  Much happier and calmer
Energy: A little more
Cravings: Cajun food and lots and lots of Louisiana Hot Sauce

Thursday, March 1, 2012

Week 16

You are the size of an avocado, and you are now coordinated and strong enough to make a fist.

This has really been another uneventful week, honestly! I've been feeling you "popping" around here and there. No real strong movements yet. Been a little preoccupied with your sister this week. She does NOT like me holding or even being close to other kids and babies. She screams and even pushes the other kids. Well, this past week, she got mad at Daddy for hugging me and she got mad when I was pushing your Great Grandmother in her wheelchair! It's like she knows something is up... Well, hopefully she will get over this phase soon. I feel like it will be different when you - her sister or brother - is here. However, right now, she is totally possessive over "her Momma"!! I'm going to try working with her with the baby doll I got her for Christmas.

Well, here's me at the end of this week (don't judge the outfit - I was feeling PJ's). Love you!

Stats for the Week:
Mood:  Happier, but reading a Buddhist book on "anger" LOL!
Energy: A little more
Cravings: Heinz 57 & A1 Chicago Steak Sauce

Thursday, February 23, 2012

Week 15

You are the size of an apple, and your blood vessels are growing and getting stronger now.

This wasn't an eventful week, except that I'm very tired and sore.  I'm having a lot of trouble sleeping and the less sleep I get, the more sore I am.  On a brighter note, it appears that morning sickness and low blood sugar problems are completely gone and I'm feeling a lot better and able to manage my weight gain better.  You are moving like crazy and I can usually feel you at least twice a day, which makes me very happy.

Stats for the Week:
Mood:  Really, really cranky
Energy: Zero
Sickness: Gone!
Cravings: Baked potato with butter, sour cream & Heinz 57

Thursday, February 16, 2012

Week 14

You are the size of a medium-sized nectarine, and this week, your thyroid will start working.

This has been a really great week!  I feel so much better!  I did go out and buy some pricey maternity jeans, however, they made me feel so good that they were worth every penny!  First pair of the skinny leg jeans and I buy them when I'm pregnant LOL!  In my defense, all of the others were too long and I would have had to have them altered.  How are you already the size of a nectarine?!  I cannot believe you are getting so big and can't wait to see your precious face!  Valentine's Day was this week and your sister had a blast eating sweets, but Momma didn't eat many because I'm not as hungry as I used to be and have been craving healthier things this week (thank goodness!)  The doctor last week said I could quit taking progesterone anytime.  However, I was scared to immediately stop, so I took it a few more days.  However, I did quit taking it and am getting the ever-so-tiniest feeling of more energy.  Also, I SWEAR I can already feel you moving around.  It only happens about once or twice a day, but I'm pretty sure it's you!  I can't believe I can feel you this early.  You MUST be pretty active!  :)

Okay, I know that the sticker says 12 weeks, but I forgot to take the photo, so this is actually a little over 13 weeks. You can see what I mean about the big early baby belly! I love you!

Stats for the Week:
Mood:  Much happier!
Energy: A wee bit more than normal, but still tired
Sickness: Much better!
Cravings: Salads and Tuscan House Italian Dressing

Thursday, February 9, 2012

Week 13

You are the size of a tangerine, and your vocal cords are beginning to develop.

You'll never believe it, but the nausea came back with a vengeance after a five day reprieve!  However, it did manage to go away again by the end of the week (thank goodness!)  This was another busy week.  Your cousin Michael was born so we went up to the hospital several times to see him and Aunt Kara.  He is so adorable and I know that you are going to be big pals just like Daniel and Audrey!  I had another OB appointment this week and eating through the nausea did cause a pretty big weight spike.  :(  However, I'm confident that now that I'm feeling better and not having to eat as much, that I will gain weight at a much slower rate.  The doctor did say that the low blood sugar and nausea were all related.  So very happy to be pregnant with you and so glad you are doing great and healthy!  I got to hear your heart rate for the first time on the monitor and it was such a wonderful sound!  The doctor had a hard time finding it because you were moving around so much lol!

Stats for the Week:
Mood:  Happy and grateful!
Energy: Still exhausted
Sickness: Nausea again, but went away...again!
Cravings: Veggie sandwiches

Thursday, February 2, 2012

Week 12

You are the size of a lime, and you now has soft fingernails.

Praise God!  I FINALLY got some relief from the nausea at the end of this week!!  And, I'm not as ravenous as I normally am, so I am in much better spirits!   I think maternity clothes are going to be in my future in the next week or so.  My belly has gotten so big that my biggest size of my skinny jeans to longer fit.  I've been wearing the "bella band", but I really do hate walking around with my pants unzipped all the time - even if it is hidden.

Stats for the Week:
Mood:  Much happier!
Energy: Still tired
Sickness: Nausea subsided at the end of this week
Cravings: Nothing unusual

Thursday, January 26, 2012

Week 11

You are the size of a small fig, and the first signs of teeth are starting to appear below your gums.

This was a really busy week and again, thank goodness for your Daddy or I could have never gotten through everything!  I hosted a shower for your Aunt Kara (and Michael) at my house and Audrey got tubes amongst all of the other craziness.  I'm still pretty sick.  I found that spearmint gum (which normally makes me sick) actually helps.  I'm also having problems with my blood sugar being low.  I think it has to do with morning sickness.  Hopefully this will go away soon because it is definitely not making me feel any better.  Sorry to be a downer this week...I'm just ready to feel good again!  I'm still VERY EXTREMELY happy to be pregnant with you!!

Stats for the Week:
Mood: Kinda down, but grateful
Energy: Notta
Sickness: Still Nausea
Cravings: Hamburgers

Thursday, January 19, 2012

Week 10

You are the size of a grape, and your head is becoming more rounded.

Despite being so happy to be pregnant, the nausea and exhaustion are really getting to me this week.  I know that it will go away soon once I enter my second trimester, but I'm just so ready to feel "normal" again.  Also, so tired of having to eat so much!  We did go on a mini-vacation to Lobo Landing in Heber Springs on the Little Red River with your Mimi and had a lot of fun. It was cold, so Momma and Audrey spent a lot of time in the cabin, but we had a lot of fun eating s'mores by the fire and relaxing.

Stats for the Week:
Mood: Really tired of being sick and tired
Energy: None
Sickness: Still nauseated
Cravings: I'll just say "s'mores" for this week since I ate my fair share at the cabin.  :)

Thursday, January 12, 2012

Week 9

You are the size of a cherry, and by this week your embryonic tail has disappeared.

Everything is going great!  I had another doctor's appointment and ultrasound this week at 8 weeks 5 days.  You were perfect and your heartbeat was 179 which was great!  You wiggled around on the monitor and it was so wonderful to see you so active.  Momma is still doing okay.  Super tired, super hungry and my belly is starting to pooch out!  It is way bigger this early in the pregnancy than with your sister.

Stats for the Week:
Mood:  Does "tired" count as a mood?!
Energy: None
Sickness: Still nauseated
Cravings: Chinese food.  Loved the sweet and sour chicken this week!

Thursday, January 5, 2012

Week 8

You are now the size of a kidney bean and even though I can't feel you, you may begin to move this week.

We celebrated the new year with sparkling grape juice and you were definitely part of our toast because we are so grateful to be able to start the new year with you!  Momma is super sick with nausea right now and super tired.  Fortunately, your Daddy is so wonderful and has been cooking dinner and holding down the fort for Momma until the nausea is over.  We took down the tree knowing that we would be taking pictures in front of it with you next year along with your big sis Audrey!

Stats for the Week:
Mood:  Happy  and emotional
Energy: Zilch
Sickness: Same ole nausea
Cravings: Icee's (love them)
